William Robert Peckham, 84, Rockton, Illinois died at 1:20 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 in his home. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born June 16, 1926, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary (Diderich) Peckham. He was a lifelong resident of the Rockton area. Married Phyllis Sutherland in Beloit, Wisconsin. He was employed as a machinist by Fairbanks for 42 years. Veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Graduated from South Beloit High School. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include sons, Thomas Peckham, South Beloit, Illinois and Charles Peckham, Rockford, Illinois; daughter, Lynn Harrington, Fox Lake, Illinois; six grandchildren; six great grand children and sister Janie (Bob) Clark,Clinton, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter- in-law Linda, sister Ruth and granddaughter Rebekah. \r\r\n\r\r\n Graveside ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. Cremation rites were accorded. The family was assisted by McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois.
