Wayne Albert “Andy” Anderson, 72, Lake Summerset, IL died at 5:35 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer.\r\n\r\nBorn November 27, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son and of Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. and Marian J. (Walneck) Anderson. He was employed as a carpenter superintendent by Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 434, retiring in 2000. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, cars and drag racing. Andy was the head coach of the New Lennox Mustangs and was the first head coach of the Widget Reds.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his two sons, Glenn (Beth) Anderson, Essex, IL and Erich (Kathy) Anderson, New Lennox, IL; grandchildren Emily, Ethan and Evan Anderson; sister, Sherry Paulson, Largo, FL; brother, Glenn R. Anderson, Loudon, TN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nA visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL from 1:00 -4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2106. Cremation rites will be accorded.
