Walter Lawrence Stockwell, 77, of Shopiere, Wisconsin went to meet Patty, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 after a long battle with leukemia and COPD. \r\r\n\r\r\n Walter was born October 2, 1935, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Reynolds) Stockwell. He was raised in Beloit, Wisconsin and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, Class of 1953. He married Patsy Ann Clary August 20, 1955. They had two children Sandra Anglin and Tina Stockwell. Walter and Patsy resided in Beloit for 16 years, then lived in Shopiere for 30 years. They then resided with their daughter Sandra in Rockton, Illinois for the remainder of their lives. Walter was employed as a welder for the Beloit Corporation for 43 years until retiring in 1999. Walter was a lover of nature, hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan of baseball, football “Go Pack”, and NASCAR. All kids and dogs naturally flocked to him and he loved them all. He is sadly missed by the “3 Amigos” Chip, Oscar and Hazel his recliner buddies. \r\r\n\r\r\n Walter is survived by his daughter Sandra Anglin, Rockton, Illinois; grandson, Adrian (Sarah) Klenz , Eau Claire, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Tiona (Jake) Appel, Footville, Wisconsin; two great grandchildren Bryce and Alaina Appel; sister, Ginger (Leland) Wilson, Beloit, Wisconsin; brother, Henry (Joan) Stockwell, Edgerton, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home at last. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Beloit Memorial Hospital and Beloit Regional Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they gave to Walter and our family during this final journey. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial ceremony will be planned for a later date.
