Ronald E. Lohmeier, 58, of Davis, Illinois died at 4:27 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2009 in Monroe Clinic Hospital after a lengthy battle with bone cancer. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born June 2, 1958 in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Maxine (Sweet) Lohmeier. Graduated from Dakota High School, Class of '69 and Highland Community College in agro mechanics. Worked at Carte and Gruenwald prior to dairy farming with his dad until 2000. Then worked for Ostegard Enterprise. He then owned and operated his own excavating business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and tractors. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughter Robin S (Mark Hunziker) Lohmeier of Freeport, Illinois, Polly (Kyle) Stache of Rock City, Illinois; son Rodney Lohmeier of Davis, Illinois; two grandsons Dawson and Nathaniel Stache; parents Roy and Maxine of Davis, Illinois; trusting co-pilot, Jingles; brother Russ (Linda) Lohmeier of Davis, Illinois; niece Niki and nephew Randy. \r\r\n\r\r\n Graveside ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in Epplyanna Cemetery of rural Davis, Illinois. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 101 Main St Durand, Illinois on Tuesday, September 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. \r\r\n\r\r\n The family wishes to extend a thanks to all the special friends and relatives who have helped Ron throughout his illness. A special thanks go to Dr. Pipp, Marge Trumpy RN, Dr. Richardson and all the Monroe Clinic Staff. \r\r\n\r\r\n In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Light the Night for Cancer Research.
