Orville D. Tabbert, 77, of Rockton, Illinois went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 9, 2009. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born September 23, 1931 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Elsie (Ludwig) Tabbert, Sr. Graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, Class of 1949. Veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1954. Married the sunshine of his life, the beautiful Miss Jeanne Marie Hahn of Dotyville, Wisconsin on November 30, 1957. The Lord took Jeanne into His arms on July 4, 1988. Orville worked as a steamfitter welder through the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #23 of Rockford, Illinois, retiring in 1993. Life member of VFW Post #2955 in Roscoe, Illinois, Walter H. Graham American Legion Post# 332 of Rockton, Illinois, US Navy Memorial Lone Sailors Log and Masonic Lodge #75 Roscoe, Illinois. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, big band music and was an avid Green Bay Packers and University of Wisconsin fan. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughter Kim (Paul) Morse of Roscoe, Illinois; son Clark (Susan) Tabbert of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren Tara, Jamie and Tristen Morse and Jordan and Collin Tabbert; brothers Frank Tabbert, Jr. of Reno, Nevada and Norman (Evelyn) Tabbert of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; sister Marilyn Sass of Eden, Wisconsin; brother- in- law Milton Krug; sisters- in -law Mary Jo Willis and Susie Krug all of Dotyville, Wisconsin and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Edward and Vernon and sister Louise. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies to be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday May 15, 2009 in Roscoe United Methodist Church with Reverend Lisa Abb, officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery in Rockton, Illinois. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, IL from 6:00 pm to 8 pm Thursday, May 14. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorials may be given to St. Jude's.
