Obituary for Glen Clayton Aspland

Glen Clayton “John” Aspland, 91, of Rockton, IL died at 3:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in his home.

Born November 23, 1926 in Rockton, IL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. and Pearl (Wright) Aspland. He graduated from Rockton Grade School. Glen married the former Betty B. Krauze in Rockton, IL on August 19, 1949. He was employed as a painter by Wagon Wheel Resort and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from 1943- 1950 where he also fought in the Philippians and was a guard at the Nuremburg Trials.

Glen was a member of the VFW in Oxford, WI.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to his nurse Veronica and Chaplin Ken for their tender loving care given to dad.

Survivors include children Wairis Krauze, Frank (Brenda) Aspland, Debra Busse, Jim (Sandy) Aspland, Susan Aspland, Penny (Ken) Lee, Eric (Emily) Aspland and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter-in-law Olga Krauze, son-in-law John Busse, his sister and half-brother.

A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date. Final resting place will be in Rockton Township Cemetery. Cremation Rites were Accorded.

A memorial may be given to MercyHealth at Home.
