Maurice A. “Bud” Beman, 79, of Rockton died at 12:52 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family. Born January 29, 1934 in Castlewood, South Dakota to Mr. and Mrs. Dick H. and Leona M. (King) Beman. Married the former Karen R. Vanderwaal in Rockford, IL on August 2, 1984. He was self employed as a contractor for 46 years, retiring in 1998.Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving U.S. Marines. Member of Rockford Seventh-day Adventist Church.\r\r\n\r\r\nMaurice is survived by his wife, Karen Beman of Rockton; sons, Mike (Debbie) Beman of New Milford, Kelly (Patti) Beman of Freeport, Tab (Vonnie) Busker of Machesney Park, Darri (Dana) Busker of Rockton; daughter, Neala (Chris) Jensen of Rockton; numerous grandchildren that were loved by grandpa; and sister, Lucy Hoftezer of South Dakota. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Julie; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.\r\r\n\r\r\nA celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Rockford Seventh-day Adventist Church, 325 N. Alpine Rd Rockford, with Past John Larssen officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.
