Mary Lee (Mary) O’Neil, 81, of Lake Summerset, Illinois passed away peacefully Friday, July 15, 2011 in her home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born March 4, 1930 in Pinckneyville, Illinois to Clarence (Hap) McCrary and Thelma (Sis) McCrary (Vineyard). She married Lawrence Eugene O’Neil on December 30, 1948. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, completing crossword puzzles, and listening to country music. She was employed by Automatic Electric in Genoa, Illinois as a cable-maker until her retirement. \r\r\n\r\r\n She is survived by her husband Lawrence; children Dan (JoEllen) of Cherry Valley, IL and Sheryl O’Neil of Peoria, IL; grandchildren Sarabeth (Michael) McAuliffe of Oak Park, IL, and Nolan Paul (Sherie) O’Neil of Machesney Park, IL; and six great grand children. She was predeceased by her parents and three siblings, brother’s Clarence Jr. and James, and sister Martha Miller. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremony to be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday July 19, 2011 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St Durand, IL, with Rev. Warren McCosky of Cornerstone Foursquare Church officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockford, IL. A visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to time of funeral. Memorials may be given to the FHN Hospice, 1045 W. Stephenson Street, Freeport, IL 61032.
