Marvin E. Adams, 54, Pecatonica, Illinois, died peacefully at 4:20 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2009 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a spirited battle with cancer. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born October 3, 1954 in Lombard, Illinois, the son of Marvin H. (Theresa) Adams and the late Elaine Ramsey. Married the former Linda C. Dolgner in Kingston, Wisconsin on May 17, 1980. He was the president of M. Adams Equipment in Rockford, Illinois. He enjoyed drag racing and won the Cash Nationals at Byron Dragway in 1982 and was an avid golfer. His newest hobby was trap shooting at Plug and Pellet. Marvin was a great husband and dad who was always there for his family and friends. He had a great ability to make everyone laugh, had a great faith in God and was our hero. He graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1972. Then while working full-time he entered Rockford College and graduated with honors in 2000, receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Management. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Linda Adams; son Matthew (Jaime Kissinger) Adams; daughter Michelle Adams; parents Marvin and Theresa Adams; siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. \r\r\n\r\r\n A Gathering of Friends will be held from 1:30 p.m. until time of celebration, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Di Giovanni’s Ristorante, 4866 Bluestem Rd, Roscoe, Illinois, with Celebration of Life Ceremonies beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplin Bernice Fertitta officiating.
