Mabel G. Nelson, 98, Lancaster, Wisconsin, died at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Orchard Manor, Lancaster, Wisconsin after a sudden illness. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born January 4, 1911 in Barron, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Clara (Hong) Gilbertson. Lived five years in Lancaster, Wisconsin coming here from Cassville, Wisconsin. Married Einar B. Nelson in Hawkins, Wisconsin on April 5, 1930. She was married to Einar for 52 years when he died. She then spent 11 years with her dear friend Charles Tracy of Durand, Illinois. She lost him in 1996. She was a loving, caring mother. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughters June Puhl, Cassville, Wisconsin and Esther Dixon, Durand, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Russell, daughter Barbara and sister Fern Austin. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois with Reverend R. Lee Bennight, Trinity Lutheran Church, Durand, Illinois officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Friday.
