Lola Mae (Mapes) Leman, 83, of Durand, IL and formerly of Rockton and South Elgin, IL, passed away peacefully at 7:55 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Medina Manor in Durand, IL.\r\n\r\nShe was born November 11, 1933 in Plato Center, IL the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira and Clara (Tucker) Mapes. She attended Elgin High School in Elgin, IL. Lola married Willis Leman on August 2, 1954 and they lived a happy life together until his death in 2015. She was a homemaker working outside of the home when needed to help support the family. She was involved with Cub Scouts and was a longtime member of the Community United Methodist Church of South Elgin.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include her three sons Mark (Monique), Keith (Jackie) and Paul (Shelley); nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two brothers Ralph (Phyllis) and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willis, an infant daughter, three brothers James, Robert and Carl and three sisters Judith, Nancy (Fohey) and Ethel (Stringer).\r\n\r\nMemorial ceremonies will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Community United Methodist Church, 400 W Spring Street, South Elgin, IL 60177. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of ceremonies. Final resting place will be South Elgin Cemetery. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Community United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
