Kenneth R. Thompson, 67, of South Beloit, IL, died at 1:35 a.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 in V.A. Hospital Madison, WI after a lengthy illness. \r\n\r\nBorn June 4, 1949 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle and Evelyn (Webb) Thompson. He graduated from Belvidere High School, Class of 1969. He married Sandra Luce on June 10, 1972, then married the former Rose M Rosinski in Rockford, IL on May 6, 2000. He was employed as a meat cutter for 40 years with Brown’s Country Market in Sycamore and Genoa, IL retiring in 2012. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1970-1971. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church and a member of the V.F.W. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include wife Rose Thompson; son Chad (Wendy) Thompson; daughters Lisa Thompson and Deborah (Christian) Eads; sons Michael (Kelly) Steffen and David (Amy) Steffen; grandchildren Heather, Holly, Hailey, Brooke, Melissa, James, Amanda, Jordan, Karissa, Taylor and Andrew; great grandchildren, Jerreka, Kennedi, Savanna, Adrian, Landon, Weston, Aurelia, and Nate; brother Robert (Ann) Thompson; sister Margaret Dennis and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. \r\n\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Hope Evangelical Free Church, 5656 Elevator Rd Roscoe, IL with the Pastor Fana Timoti officiating. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home- Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017.Cremation rites to be accorded. Final resting place will be in Highland Memorial Garden, Belvidere, IL . \r\n\r\nMemorials to be established.
