Joan S. Lacy, 69, Beloit, Wisconsin, died at 3:05 a.m., Sunday, September 19, 2010 in Riverside Terrace in Beloit, Wisconsin after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 38, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Lillian (Frederick) Schaetzlein. She graduated from York High School, Class of 1959. Joan married James F. Lacy in Oakbrook, Illinois on November 4, 1961 and they lived and raised a family in Wheaton, Illinois for 28 years. They then moved to Houston, Missouri where Joan and Jim farmed for 17 years. Joan enjoyed gardening, canning, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include her children Laura (Bill) Walsh, Davenport, Iowa, Jim (Robbie) Lacy, Springfield, Missouri, Lynn (Dennis) McKee, Shirland, Illinois and Thomas Lacy, Aurora, Illinois; nine grandchildren JW, Billy, Megan, Jackie, Jessie, Steven, Amanda, Christine and Michael and one great grandson, Keaton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. \r\r\n\r\r\n Graveside ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Shirland Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21.
