Jerome “Jerry” R. Jurkowski, 79, Rockton, IL passed away at 4:32 a.m., July 12, 2017 in his home, in the company of his loving wife, after a short illness.\r\n\r\nHe was born April 17, 1938 in Worth, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Marion (Gierszewioz) Jurkowski. He lived in the Rockton area since 1989, coming from Machesney Park, IL. Jerry married Kathi Linden on December 17, 1976 in Rockton, IL and were married 41 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines Corp. He was the owner of Hootman Dental Lab, where he and his wife were technicians. He was President of Illinois Dental Lab Association, an honorary member of the Winnebago Dental Society, a member of the Winnebago County Farm Bureau where he served on the Farm Service Agency Committee, member of Rotary International Committee, Pheasants Forever, Great Lakes Belted Galloway Association as well as the US Belted Galloway Society where he also served on the council\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife Kathi Jurkowski; daughter Jackie Lake; son Mike Jurkowski; step-sons Shawn Lopata and Bryan (Melanie) Lopata; grandchildren Nick Jurkowski, Jessica, Jennifer and Dan Lake, Madison, Jake, Emily and Carly Lopata; great grandson Silas Jurkowski; brother Ray (Barb) Jurkowski; sisters Rita Kot and Dorothy Gass; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nFuneral Ceremonies to be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., in McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL with Chuck Linden, brother-in-law and Bob Phelps, friend from the Farm Bureau, officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 17. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
