Fred Spencer Cull, 79, Durand, Illinois, died at 3:35 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his own home with his wife by his side. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born October 28, 1930 in Oakland, Nebraska the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Anna (Monson) Cull. Veteran of U.S. Marine Corps . Fred was employed as a pilot for American Airlines, retiring in 1990. Married to the former June Wells of Pensacola, Florida on June 4, 1954. Member of the Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #676 and various aviation associations and the Durand United Methodist Church. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife June Cull, Durand, Illinois; daughters Judith (Carl) Emma and Jan Simonson, both of Durand, Illinois; sons Fred Spencer (Paula) Cull, Jr., Durand, Illinois and Scott (Jenny) Cull, Germantown, Tennessee; grandchildren Elizabeth and Vincent Emma, Ali Simonson, Colton, Danielle and Mikinzie Cull and Matthew, Andrew and Sarah Cull; sister Mary Ellen Rich, Omaha, Nebraska; brothers Glenn (Norma) Cull and Ronald Cull both of Oakland, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main, Durand, Illinois, with Pastor Henry Whang, officiating. Burial in Durand Cemetery, Durand, Illinois. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church Monday. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorials may be given to the Northern Illinois Hospice Association.
