Doris M. Brauer, 102, Pecatonica, IL, died at 2:11 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2019 in Generations Nursing Home.\r\n\r\nBorn October 23, 1917 in Seward, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Alvina (Christen) Spielman. Graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1935. Married Maurice J. Brauer in Tullahoma, TN on June 29, 1942. She partnered with her husband in operating and management of Brauer Trucking until 1981. Member for over 75 years of First Congregational Church where she was a pianist, Sunday school teacher, organist for 35 years and a choir director. She taught piano lessons in her home for over 40 years. The family would like to thank the Nurses, CNA’s and staff at Generations for their tender loving care.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include daughters Ann (Amos) Selzer, Carol (James) Miller and Judith Brauer; grandsons Don (Cindy) Selzer and Ory (Meghan) Selzer; granddaughters Erica (Christian) Miller-Spears and Nicole (Jeffrey) Rairden; eight great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Richard Spielman.\r\n\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 in First Congregational Church, 633 Reed Street, Pecatonica, IL with Rev. Judy Harris officiating. Burial will be in Pecatonica Cemetery.
