Donald W. Rogers, 89, of Roscoe, Illinois, died at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a long and adventurous life. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born May 5, 1919 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Don H. and Effie L. (Larson) Rogers. Married the former Melba M. Folyer in Fairfield, Iowa on April 6, 1940. He farmed for many years and then worked as a semi driver for Econolab in Rockton, Illinois, retiring in 1981. Member of Rockton Boat Club, Harlem Roscoe Fire Department, and the Moose Club in Beloit, Wisconisn. He was an avid Cubs fan, an enthusiastic fisherman, and enjoyed motorcycling and snowmobiling. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include; wife, Melba, Roscoe, Illinois; daughter, Judith (Dean) Colby, South Beloit, Illinois; daughter, Kathryn (David Dickerson) Brown, Beloit, Wisconsin; son, Harold (Mary) Rogers, Beloit, Wisconsin; daughter, Donna (Douglas) Case, Necedah, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and daughter, Mary Campbell. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois with Pastor Paul Ficken and Pastor Rick Wagner officiating. Burial in Harlem Cemetery, Loves Park, Illinois.
