David W. Crockett, 92, of Roscoe, Illinois passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. He spent his last days with his wife of 53 years, Ruth Crockett, in Fair Oaks Nursing Home, South Beloit, Illinois. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born October 25, 1916 to Dr. W. W. and Grace (Baldwin) Crockett, Beloit, Wisconsin. David was a long time resident of Roscoe Township, a 62 year Mason and Life Member of Roscoe Lodge No. 75, member of First Congregational Church of Roscoe. David liked fixing things HIS WAY, which usually included Duct tape. David also enjoyed gardening, loved animals, and was an avid outdoorsman. David was a farmer and worked as an industrial painter for many years. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include his wife; Ruth Crockett; sons Thomas (Sue) Larson, Madison, Wisconsin, William (Jenell) Larson of Brodhead, Wisconsin, James Larson, Roscoe, Illinois and Stephen (Ann) Larson, Batavia, Illinois; grandchildren Susan (Tom) Lewis, Tom Jr. (Shannon) Larson, Signe Larson, Andrea (Lance) Ripley, John (Ying) Larson, Monica, Brett, Danielle, and Julia Larson; great grandchildren Payton and Lake Larson, Trevor and Andrew Ripley; nieces Carolyn Crockett, Travis (Jack) Gordon, Barbara Oppasser, Carol (Bob) Zombo, Barbara (Frisk) Wright, Julie (Ray) Hartje, RuthAnn (Joe) Keenan, Jean (Mike) McKee; nephews George (Terese) Linsky, Tom, Steve, Theresa and Lisa Terry, Patty (Paul) Cushing, Linda (James) Enscoe; family friend Everett McDermot. He was preceded in death by his parents; Dr. W. W. and Grace B. Crockett; brother Russell; sisters Jeanette and Genevieve.
