Anita L. Specht, 58 of Rockton, Illinois, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 in her home. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born December 24, 1956 in Beloit, Wisconsin. Daughter of Donald L. and Esther (Meech) Rumage. Graduated from Shirland Grade School, Honnenegah High School, OSF St. Anthony School of Nursing. Lifetime career registered nurse, having worked at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in . orthopedic, home health care, neurointensive, surgical unit, nursing home and rehab. Married to Edward W. Specht in Rockton, Illinois on February 6, 1982. Lifetime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school; was former 4-H Queen, volunteer for 4-H exchanges, Beef Queen, Home Economic projects.\r\r\n\r\r\nShe enjoyed flower gardening, gardening, bird watching, animals, crocheting, walks around the pond, and reading. \r\r\n\r\r\nSurvivors include Husband, Edward Specht of Rockton, Illinois, Sons Benjamin (Kate Grinell) Specht, Rockford, Illinois, Carl (Samantha) Specht, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dale (Katelyn Liesse) Specht, Littleton, Colorado; Stepdaughter Margarete (Matthias) Mittrach, Riehen, Switzerland; Grandchildren Delaney, Evelyn, Odin, Step grandchildren Marlene, Moritz, and loving Dogs, Pooh and Pappi; Mother Esther Rumage, Rockton, Illinois, Brothers Jim (Brenda) Rumage, Rockton, Illinois, Mark (Anita) Rumage, Rockford, Illinois; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her father, sister Carol Streich, and nephew Mike Rumage.\r\r\n\r\r\nFuneral Ceremonies held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015, at McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL with Seminarian Seth Rumage officiating. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday. Memorials have been established to Wounded Warriors and 4-H Foundation.
