Robert “Rob” A. Griffith , 63, Roscoe, Illinois, died at 5:50 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 in his own home. Born May 30, 1946 in Champaign, Illinois,the son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin and Alice (Arts) Griffith. Married to the former Mary L. Slothower in Champaign, Illinois on January 28, 1968. Retired as the Human Resource Manager for Essex Wire in Rockford, Illinois. Veteran of Vietnam War serving the U.S. Army. Member of Rock Valley Chapel in Beloit, Wisconsin. Graduated from Northern IL University. Survivors include wife, Mary Griffith and son Todd Griffith both of Roscoe, Illinois; brothers William (Alice) Griffith, Shabbona, Illinois and Edward (Lynda) Griffith, Cedarburg, Wisconsin; sisters, Susan Coady, Aurora, Illinois and Elizabeth (Greg) Gatchel, Ivesdale, Illinois; mother-in-law, Velma Slothower, Rockford, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Rock Valley Chapel, 2780 Shopiere Road, Beloit, Wisconsin with the Dr. Tim Johnson officiating and Reverend Ken Bergstedt co-officiating. Visitation will be held in the church from 5:30 p.m. to time of serviceTuesday. Cremation Rites to be accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Rock Valley Chapel. McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, Illinois assisted the family.
