Richard W. Leff Obituary (1943 - 2015)

Richard W. Leff, 71, Roscoe, Illinois, died at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Swedish American Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born April 15, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles I. and Helen (Brown) Leff. Graduated from SIUC with a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing. Married Joan E. Ennis in Romeoville, Illinois on September 6, 1969. He was employed as an industrial sales representative for W.W. Grainger Inc,. and Graybar Electric Company, retiring in 2000. Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the US Army. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, VietNow, Chrysler 300 Club and former member of Kinnikinnick School District School Board where he served as vice president. Survivors include wife, Joan Leff, Roscoe, Illinois; son, Jonathan (Dawn) Leff, Belvidere, Illinois; daughter, Maggie (Doug) Leff, Rockford, Illinois; seven grandchildren; sister Linda (Gene) Packard of Oklahoma, sister Sally (William) Houghton of Colorado, brother Thomas Leff of California, brother Richard (Mary Kay) Letsinger of Texas, brother Robert (Diana) Leff of California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 511 West Rockton, Rockton, Illinois with Reverend Scott Herbert officiating. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8. Burial will be in Willow Brook Cemetery, Roscoe, Illinois.
