Raymond L. Lewis, 78, Davis, IL died at 6:23 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Mercy Health after a sudden illness. Born May 9, 1939 in Shannon, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Evan and Helen (Weigle) Lewis. Attended Shannon High School. Married the former Beverly R. Fosler on March 24, 1965. He was employed as a manager by Barker Building Supply in Durand for over 40 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include wife Beverly Lewis, Davis, IL; son James Lewis, Durand, IL; daughter Sherry Lewis, North Aurora, IL; son Vaughn Lewis, Durand, IL; grandchildrenTia Thompson, Machesney Park, IL and Caleb Thompson, Roscoe, IL and sister Leona Sturtz, Lanark, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cathy and brother Lee Lewis. Private Ceremonies will be held. Final resting place will be in South Rock Run Lutheran Cemetery.
