Phillip Allen Kelsey Obituary (1938 - 2009)

Phillip Allen Kelsey, 71, formerly of Durand, Illinois, died November 21, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. Born January 11, 1938 in Clinton, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Margaret (Hogan) Kelsey. Veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1961- 1965 and then in the US Army from 1965 to 1966. He graduated from Durand High School, Class of 1957 and attended Northern Illinois University. Survivors include sisters, Virginia Cooper, Shirley Sweet, Kathy (Lyle) Whitehouse and Sally (William) Lawson; brother, Weyburn (Carol) Kelsey and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother-in-laws. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Howard Union Cemetery, Campbell Road, Durand, Illinois. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m..
