Nancy A. Dial Obituary (1930 - 2010)

Nancy A. Dial, 79, Roscoe, Illinois, died at 3:42 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Born October 29, 1930 in Carbondale, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Ruth (Cummins) Ely. Graduated from Johnson City High School, Class of 1948 and Southern Illinois University, Class of 1952. Married to Ed Dial in March 15, 1952. Lived 39 years in Roscoe, Illinois, coming here from Cary, Illinois. She owned and operated Upholstery Fabric Outlet in Roscoe, Illinois for 30 years, taught night class at Blackhawk Tech and was a home economics teacher a North Boone High School. Member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church where she was active on many church committees, projects and was a Sunday school teacher and member of Vesper Circle. Nancy was very compassionate, generous, caring and will be missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include husband Ed Dial; daughter - Ann (Mike) August; grandchildren Eric and Amanda August, all of Roscoe, Illinois; sister Martha (Bob) Dahlstrom, Rockville, Maryland and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Jeff. Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 in Roscoe United Methodist Church with Dr. Jay D. Carr officiating. Cremation Rites to be accorded. Final resting place will be in Zion Grove Cemetery, Marion County, Illinois. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3.
