Melvin A. Hausvick, 95, Rockton, Illinois, died at 9:45 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 in his own home from a sudden illness. Born August 7, 1916 in Steward, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mons and Astrid (Hamre) Hausvick. Lived 46 years in Rockton, coming here from Durand, Illinois. Married the former June E. Flanders in Rockford, Illinois on September 20, 1942. He was employed as a sales engineer by Borg-Warner Corp for over 40 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rockton, Illinois, where he held various offices; Society of Automotive Engineers and the Moose Club, Harvard, Illinois. Survivors include wife, June E. Hausvick, Rockton, Illinois; two sons Kenneth A. (Jean) Hausvick, Rockton, Illinois and Dennis M. (Terri) Hausvick, Roscoe, Illinois; one daughter Karen (Darran) Landenberger, Rockton, Illinois; grandchildren Patrick (Tara) Hausvick, Amy (David) Lynch and Kari (Jared) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois with Pastor Doug Johnson of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rockton, Illinois officiating. Burial will be in Willwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1.
