Maurice J. Nyman Obituary (1944 - 2011)

Maurice J. “Butch” Nyman, 67, Durand, Illinois died at 8:49 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Monroe Clinic Hospital. Born June 22, 1944 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay and Freda (Stilwell) Nyman. He was a life-long resident of Durand. Married the late Patricia Ann Christian, she died in July 1970. He then married Erika K. Erma on September 3, 1971. He was employed as a machinist for Ingersoll, Goss and Crown Machine companies. He later worked at Lake Summerset in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Bears and Bulls and John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies, helping others and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include wife Erika Nyman, daughter Deanna Nyman and son Bradley Nyman, all of Durand, Illinois; three granddaughters Jayna, Samantha and Rebecca; sisters Joyce Long, Durand, Illinois, Lois (Howard) Nath, Brodhead, Wisconsin and DeMetra (Roger) Larson, Durand, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 2514 Rt 26 South, Freeport, Illinois with George Edwards officiating. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family.
