Matilda Blanche Gentzel, infant, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Born on September 17, 2009 in Rockford, Illinois the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George G. and Katrena L. (Nelson) Gentzel. Survivors include parents, George and Katrena Gentzel, Durand, Illinois; sister, Madalyn Gentzel, Durand, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Allen and Sharon Nelson, Machesney Park, Illinois; paternal grandfather, George G. Gentzel Sr., Rockton, Illinois and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Barbara A. Gentzel. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main Street, Durand, Illinois, with Reverend Henry Whang officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, Illinois. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois, on Tuesday, 24, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial has been established to Matilda Blanche Gentzel Memorial Fund.
