Obituary for Marilyn Anne Rippie

We celebrate the life of Marilyn Anne Rippie, daughter of Charles and Shirley (Ward) Rippie and sister of Diane (Busker) Marilyn was born August 18, 1934 in Beloit, Wisconsin where she lived most of her life.

Marilyn brought smiles and laughter to so many people in this lifetime. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her beautiful smile would light up her face. Marilyn’s pure and loving spirit always shined so brightly and people were so attracted to her because of it. Almost everyone who met her would comment on how “sweet” she was. She prided herself on being honest and expressed gratitude for even the smallest kindness people would show her.

Marilyn had so many “earth angels” who watched out for her, starting with her sister Diane and her brother-in-law Pete. Her nieces, Pam, Susan, Nancy and Ann. Each contributed lovingly to her care in her final months and were delighted to be a part of her life. Her neighbors helped her through the years and especially toward the end when she needed their guidance to get home safely. The staff at the Beloit and Stoughton hospitals who nursed her through illness and injury and the Beloit Regional Hospice staff who helped her feel comfortable until the end, were all so respectful and thorough. There were many other agency staff who guided the family through all the processes of getting Marilyn the help she needed, including My Choice who promised Marilyn they would find ger a good place to live (and they did!). And the staff at Willowick in Clinton inspired such confidence in her family, knowing that she was always attended to with kindness and care. Marilyn once said of her home at Willowick “I have found my happy place. She died peacefully of complications from Alzheimer’s on May 11, 2019.
