Letty Jane Sarver Obituary (1942 - 2014)

Letty Jane Sarver, 72, Durand, Illinois, died at 9:36 am, Saturday, November 29, 2014 in her home. Born January 18, 1942 in Washington Island, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles Goodlet and Myrtle nee Hansen (Harold) Boese. Letty was brought up on a dairy farm and was active in 4-H programs having won many blue ribbons for her dairy cow Hope. She was also the Washington Island Dairy Queen. Letty was a kind, loving sister and will be deeply missed by her siblings. Letty met Jerry Sarver and moved to Durand, Illinois to raise their family. She remained at the family homestead and operated her hair salon for many years. She also worked at Gambrel Veterinary Hospital in Winnebago, Illinois. Letty had a great love of the outdoors, animals and she loved her St. Bernards and her cat, Izzy. Letty always took time to feed the birds and kept an immaculate yard. Survivors include son, Greg Sarver, Durand, Illinois; grandchildren, Dana (Ryan Blakely) Sarver, Rockford, Illinois and Charlie (Stacey Hale), Roscoe, Illinois; brothers, Jimmy (Jan) Goodlet, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Charles (Loretta) Goodlet, Jr., Sheboygan, Wisconsin; sister, Dottie (Robert) Bjarnson, Washington Island, Wisconsin; brother, Larry (Mary Sabel) Goodlet, Washington Island, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Ross. A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, December 5, 2014 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Durand Chapel, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois with Reverend Brian Channel of Durand United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation Rites to be accorded. Final resting place will be Bethel Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of ceremony on Friday.
