Judith Ann (Judy) McLevige Obituary (1946 - 2012)

Judith Ann (Judy) McLevige, 65, Davis, died suddenly at 11:10 a.m., Tuesday, May 01, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital. Born June 9, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Grace (Eliassen) Glos Jr. Married Daniel John McLevige in Rockford on May 8, 1971. Dan and Judy lived in Lake Summerset for 34 years, where they raised their three sons. She was employed as a preschool aide by Durand Elementary School for 16 years. Judy previously was a clothing buyer for Stewarts and Bergner’s. She was a member of Durand United Methodist Church; Blackhawk Trails Club, Rockford; Bocce Ball League, Lake Summerset and Bunco Group, Lake Summerset. She enjoyed card making, stamping, dominos and spoiling her grandchildren. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Iowa. Survivors include her husband, Daniel John McLevige, Davis; sons, Leonard (Ann) McLevige, Rockton, Steve (Elizabeth) McLevige, Janesville, Wisconsin and Shawn (Erin) McLevige, Pecatonica; seven grandchildren, Eric, Edward, Allison, Anna, CaroleAnn, Madelyn and Evelynn; mother, Grace Glos, Durand, Illinois; brother George (Cynthia) Glos III, New Orleans, Louisiana; nephew, George Glos IV and niece, Jennifer (Anthony) Hall. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 12:00 Noon, Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main Street with Pastor Brian Channel officiating. Burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Durand United Methodist Church.
