Joy L. (Keyes) Borling Obituary (1925 - 2011)

Joy L. Keyes Borling, 85, Davis, Illinois, died at 5:27 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 in Highview in the Woodlands, Rockton, Illinois after a sudden illness. Born December 19, 1925 in Sparta, Michigan, daughter of Clifford Lonnee and Rozahlia (Lekstrum) Allen. Married Richard Keyes on December 16, 1945 in Kent City, Michigan, he died in 1984. She then married Glenn Borling in 1990 in Durand, Illinois, he died in 2002. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1967. Joy enjoyed her many activities and memberships of her church and community. She studied nursing at Grand Rapids Junior College. Survivors include son, Daniel Keyes, his daughter Christie (Steve) Smith, their children Savannah Willer, Austin Willer, and Zayda Smith and his daughter Brittany Keyes; son David (Shirley) Keyes, their children Amanda (Jeff) Kennington, Jamesson (Rachel) Keyes and Stephanie Keyes; son Bradley (Constance) Keyes, their children Katherine (husband Nicholas Alberts) Keyes, Laura Keyes and Maribeth Keyes; daughter Patricia (John) Kocher, their children Rebecca (Kori) Ashton, Richard Priewe and Robert Priewe; step sons Reverend Donald (Jude) Borling and James (Nannette) Borling and step daughter-in-law Deb Borling; brothers James (Susan) Lonnee and Greg (Suzanne) Lonnee; sister Luann (Kenneth) Rigits; brother-in-law Stanley (Emily) Keyes; cousins Garth Dewey, Pat (James) Anderson and Rosemarie Dewey and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Richard Keyes and Glenn Borling, brother Rudolph, infant brother David and step son Gary Borling. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Durand, Illinois with Reverend R. Lee Bennight, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in South Rock Run Lutheran Cemetery, Durand, Illinois. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Retreat and Refresh Stroke Camp, Rockford, Illinois or Alzheimer’s Association.
