Joffre L. R. Cote Obituary (1942 - 2018)

Joffre L. R. “Jeff” Cote, 76 of Rockton, IL died at 10:09 am Friday October 26, 2018 in Mercy Health Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 13, 1942 in Detroit, MI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joffre E. and Mary L. (Ryan) Cote. He married Vicky L. Dearing in Royal Oak, MI on July 27, 1963. Jeff was employed as director of training for Reliable Life Insurance Company retiring in 2005. He is a veteran of Vietnam having served in the U. S. AirForce from 1961 to 1969 where he achieved the rank of Staff Sargent. He is a member of St. Jude’s Parish in Beloit, WI. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Mercy Health Hospital Infusion Department for all their tender loving care given to Jeff. Survivors include: son Gregory (Lorna) Cote of South Beloit, IL; Life Partner Pat W. Kosinski of Rockton, IL; grandchildren Kreila (Lalo) Cote-Najera, Lindy (John Szostek) Hess, Blake Toulou; 3 great grandchildren; brother Gary A. Cote of Detroit, MI; sisters June (Jerry) Rennell of Clarkston, MI, Cindy (Bill) Shepherd of Kalkaska, MI; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and wife. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am Wednesday October 31, 2018 in St. Jude’s Parish 737 Hackett St. Beloit, WI with Fr. John Hedrick officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded with final resting place to be Floral Lawn Memorial Garden in South Beloit, IL. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, IL from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday. A Scripture service will be held at 3:45 pm Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society
