Janet D. Brandt, 74, Lake Summerset, Illinois died at 9:15 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove Village, Illinois after a lengthy illness. Born May 17, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mario and Mildred (Pottebney) Vitaioli. Lived 19 years in Lake Summerset, coming here from Hanover Park, Illinois. Married Donald J. Brandt in Chicago, Illinois on January 28, 1962. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Durand, Illinois and was active in many activities at Lake Summerset. Survivors include son, Craig (Nancy) Brandt, Bartlett, Illinois; daughter, Michelle (Tim) Girkin, Bolingbrook, Illinois; grandchildren Taylor and Cody and brother Mario Vitaioli. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Trinity Lutheran Church, 15585 Durand Road, Durand, Illinois with Pastor Pat Esker officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral Saturday. Burial will be in South Rock Run Lutheran Cemetery, Durand, Illinois.
