Ilene E. Diepenbrock Obituary (1944 - 2015)

Ilene E. Diepenbrock, Davis/Lake Summerset, Illinois died at 7:50 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2015 in her home. Ilene Diepenbrock (Nee) Ferry, daughter of Guy Ferry and Helen (nee) DePover Ferry. She was born on November 10, 1944. Mrs. Diepenbrock died of metastasizing lung cancer. She stopped smoking in 1988. She wanted all to know to never start smoking or to quit NOW! Ilene went to Roosevelt Elementary, Calvin Coolidge Junior High and Moline High School. All schools in Moline. She then attended Gale Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota. While working in the Quad Cities she was affiliated to Austin-Detaye Travel with DePorter-Butterworth. She managed locations in Moline and Rock Island. Mrs. Diepenbrock worked for United Airlines in Moline, Denver, Colorado and Chicago, retired in 1997 after 31 years of services. In 1972 she married Robert Diepenbrock and obtained three potty trained children. Later Bob and Ilene added two, un-potty trained children of their own. Ilene is survived by her spouse, Robert (Bob) Diepenbrock; her children Laurie Kelley and Sons Robert (Mary), David (Shirley), Guy (Barbara) and Erik Diepenbrock; her 10 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; her sister Carol Peters and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Guy Ferry, sister Sallye Causemaker and nephew Robert Peters. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded.
