Harold L. Nash Obituary (1927 - 2010)

Harold Luverne Nash, 83, Rockton, Illinois, died at 2:30 a.m., December 24, 2010 in the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Born March 30, 1927 in Benson, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Nash. Attended WCSA in Morris, Minnesota. Entered the U.S. Navy at 17 and was Honorably Discharged as 3rd Class SF. He married Mildred Bridel in Murdock, Minnesota on August 26, 1950. They lived in Murdock for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Employed as manager of a grain elevator and then later as a lay minister. Survivors include son Kenneth (Cindy)Nash,Willmar, Minnesota; daughter Connie (Marty)Wilkes, Roscoe, Illinois; grandchildren Michelle Sanders, Gardner, Kansas, Glen Jones, Wichita, Kansas, Stacy Wilkes, Elmhurst, Illinois, Amber Fostervold, Jewel, Iowa and Sarah (Jacob) Berghius, Kenneth Nash and Elijah Nash all of Willmar Minnesota; great grandchildren Evadean, Ashley, Kate, Jackson, and Eva; sisters Evelyn Jacobs, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ruby Purcell , Springfield, Oregon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred and brothers and sisters. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church 511 W Rockton Rd, Rockton, Illinois with Reverend Rick Wagner officiating and Reverend Paul Ficken co-officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, Illinois assisted the family.
