Harold J. 'Van' Van Hauen Obituary (1938 - 2015)

Harold J. “Van” Van Hauen, 77, Pecatonica, Illinois, died at 4:33 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in his home. Born February 20, 1938 in Winnebago, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram and Jeanette (Schroeder) Van Hauen. Graduated from Winnebago High School. Married the former Janice Faye Shelly at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church on August 3, 1957. He was employed as a mechanic and retired from Rockford Blacktop in Rockford. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include daughter, Kristine (Mike Nelson) Hoffman, Rockford, Illinois; son, Kenneth (Mary Jo) Van Hauen, Ridott, Illinois; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special friend, Marilyn McCornock; one brother, Donald Van Hauen, Rockford, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Kathryn Clark and one brother Robert Van Hauen. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington, Pecatonica, Illinois with Pastor Terry Theiss, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, Illinois officiating. Private burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery.
