Frances J. Melvin Obituary (1916 - 2010)

Frances J. Melvin, 93, Pecatonica, Illinois, died at 2:40 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Fairhaven Retirement Center. Born November 11, 1916 in Shannon, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Anna (Kolthoff) Pasch. She married Virgil R. Melvin on October 10, 1946. Frances and Virgil farmed for 30 years and then owned and operated Six Oaks in Pecatonica. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica. Survivors include son Clint Hocking, Rockford, Illinois; step son Richard (Flo) Melvin, Phoenix, Arizona; numerous grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and two brothers Ralph (Lavonne) Pasch, Rockford, Illinois and Wayne (Phyllis) Pasch, Boston, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 203 W Fifth Street, Pecatonica, Illinois with Reverend Donald E. Lavelle, officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, Illinois. A memorial is to be established.
