Ferne L. Abrahamson Obituary (1928 - 2010)

Ferne L. Abrahamson, 81, of South Beloit, Illinois died at 2:35 pm. Tuesday April 6, 2010 in Highview in the Woodlands. Born October 1, 1928 in Henderson Township, Illinois daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ella (Rosenberg) Pearson. She married Jack Sperry in 1951 and he died in 1966. She then married Herbert “Ole” Abrahamson in Galesburg, Illinois on August 30, 1970. Ferne worked for Gale Products in Galesburg, Illinois for 30 years. Member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Graduated from Galesburg High School. Survivors include daughter Kay (James) Kallas, Sacramento, California; Sister Beulah Findahl, Galesburg, Illinois; sister- in- law Evelyn Pearson, Mt. Home, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers and one sister. Memorial ceremonies to be held at 11:00 am Friday April 9, 2010 in McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, IL with Rev. Gloria Halverson officiating. Cremation Rites to be accorded. Memorials may be given to Beloit Regional Hospice or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Committal ceremonies to be held Tuesday April 13 at 10:30 pm in Oaklawn Cemetery in Galesburg, IL.
