Ernest W. Johnson Obituary (1929 - 2013)

Ernest W. Johnson, 84 of Roscoe, IL died at 5:44 pm Friday October 25, 2013 in Fair Oaks Nursing Home. He was born October 20, 1929 in South Beloit, IL the son of Axel and Olive Mae (Tuller) Johnson. He served in the U. S. Marines and the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Married Beverly Boel in Long Beach, CA on June 8, 1953. He was employed as an equipment engineer by ECO LAB retiring in 1986. Member of St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit, IL; South Beloit American Legion; Beloit Businessmen’s Association; Blackhawk Field Archers; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include daughters Karna (John) McCurry; Dawn (Tom) Melead; sons Robin (Lauria) Johnson; Kris Johnson; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister Linnea Pospischil. He is predeceased by hi s parents and wife. A memorial visitation will be held in McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday October 30, 2013. Private Committal will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, IL.
