Emil L. Kotowicz Obituary (1929 - 2011)

Emil L. Kotowicz, 81, Lake Summerset, Illinois, died at 5:50 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Church Creek Facility after a brief illness. Born August 25, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Angeline Kotowicz Married Margaret L. Kelly in Chicago, Illinois. He was employed by the Cook County Highway Dept, retiring in 1988. Veteran of U.S. Army. Member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Durand, Illinois. Survivors include daughter Donna Garten and son Richard Garcia, both of Schaumburg, Illinois; grandchildren Steve Garten, Brian Talley, Kelsey Garcia and Ricky, and Jacob Garcia and great grandchildren Jordan Garten and Miranda, Mia and Ricky Garcia. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers. Graveside ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, with Msgr Eric Barr, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family.
