Elwood S. Kramar Obituary (1926 - 2014)

Elwood S. Kramar, 88 of Durand, IL died at 10:45 pm Saturday August 23, 2014 in Medina Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 7, 1926 in Clinton, Wisconsin the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Ruth (Bue) Kramar. He married Agnes V. Bennett in Beloit, Wisconsin on June 21, 1952. He worked for Economics Lab as a chemical mixer for 21 years and then worked for Taylor Freezer as an assembler for 14 years. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WW II; a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, IL and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Survivors include wife Agnes Kramar of Durand, IL; sons Michael (Karen) Kramar of Machesney Park, IL; Raymond Kramer of Durand, IL; daughter Mary Bechthold of Stillwater, Minnesota; sons James Kramar, Roger (Nancy) Kramar both of Durand, IL, Brian Kramar of Belvidere, IL, Daniel Kramar of Durand, IL; daughter Agnes Meier of Orfordville, WI; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; Sister Marie (James) Staggs of South Beloit, IL; brother Robert (Lisa) Kramar of Rockton, IL; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brother William Kramar and sister Helen Mitchell. Prayers will be said at 9:30 am Friday August 29, 2014 in McCorkle Funeral Home 101 W. Main St Durand with a Funeral Mass of the Christian burial to be held at 10:00 am Friday August 29, 2014 in St. Mary Catholic Church 602 W. Main St Durand, IL with Fr. Matthew Bergschneider officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held in the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday with a scripture service at 7:45 pm.
