Deborah R. Allen Obituary (1954 - 2012)

Deborah R. Allen, 58, of Shirland passed away peacefully at 1:20 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 in her home with her protector Peggy-Sue by her side. She was born September 25, 1954 in Rockford the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Daniel and Naomi (Akins) Allen Sr. She moved to Shirland in 1994 coming from Rockford. Deborah was the deli manager at Walmart. She enjoyed flowers, especially lily of the valley and lilacs, horses, angels, Betty Boop, Tigger, Elmo, Star Wars and the color red. Deborah was an avid record collector. She also enjoyed going to the Pec Thing every year. She loved her parents and also animals, especially her beloved pets. Deborah was always happy and had a happy go lucky spirit; she was very young at heart. She graduated from East High School in 1973. She is survived by her son, Frank Daniel Allen of Roscoe; significant other of 19 years, Tim Green of Shirland; canine step-children, Peggy-Sue, Leiloni, and Mary Lou; grand cat, Luke; sister, Vicky; adopted sister, Lislie; sister-in-law, Sally Smith; and many loving friends and co-workers. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 in Shirland United Methodist Church, 8030 North Street, Shirland, with Pastor Roland Harkleroad officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton. Memorials have been established for her son Frank.
