Christopher A. Chunky Herbig Obituary (1960 - 2013)

Christopher A. “Chunky” Herbig, 53, of Pecatonica, IL died at 7:15 pm Wednesday March 20, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 8, 1960 in Rockford, IL the son of Carol Herbig. He attended Pecatonica High School. Married to the former Kelly L. Ackerman in Rockton, IL on September 15, 1990. He was employed as an electrician for over 30 years. Chunky enjoyed hunting, fishing and being involved with and going to his children’s sporting events. His survivors are wife Kelly; sons Christopher William and Thomas Alan Herbig; Aunt Betty Devine; numerous cousins; father and step mother in law William and Lynn Ackerman; brother in laws Daniel (Angie) Ackerman and Michael (Celinda) Ackerman. He is predeceased by his mother, and mother in law Judith Ackerman. Memorial ceremonies will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday March 24, 2013 in McCorkle Funeral Home, Countryman Chapel 529 Washington St Pecatonica, IL with Chaplin Pamela Lojewski of Heartland Hospice officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers a memorial education fund for his children is being established.
