Burchard Kent Loofbourrow Obituary (1936 - 2013)

Burchard Kent Loofbourrow, 76, of Durand died at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in his home after a short battle with lung cancer. Born May 30, 1936 in New Auburn, WI to Mr. and Mrs. Courtney Burchard and Ruth (Phillip) Loofbourrow. Lived in Durand since 1966. Married the former Bonnie J. Marquardt in Bloomer, WI on December 21, 1957. Employed as an Electrician by Sundstrand Corporation for 45 yrs, retiring in 1998. Burchard was a member of Faith Community Church in Davis, a proud member of UAW Local 592, and of the Durand Athletic Association where he was chosen for the Bull Dog Award in 1985. He enjoyed golfing, and bowling, bowling a 300 game in 2002. He loved the Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Cubs; but his favorite team was the Durand Bull Dogs that his children and grandchildren played on. Burchard is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Dawn (Mike Saylor) Stockdale; sons, Dan (Barbi) Loofbourrow, Dennis (Sarah) Loofbourrow all of Durand; grandchildren, Amanda (Bunker), Andrew, Kassi, Kari, Cal, Becca (Carl), Valerie, Joseph; great grandchildren, Mark, Jayce, Allison, Mason; grand pets, Bianca, Blue Dog, Jack, Gibson, Scarlet-Bonnie, Lucy T, Samantha-Jovi, Scout; sisters, Juanita, Anna; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. A special thank you to Passages Hospice nurses Rhonda, Debbie, and Vickie. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 in Faith Community Church, 212 W. McKimmy Street, Davis, with Pastor Bob Kolb officiating. Burial in Durand Township Cemetery. Arrangements by McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street Durand. A visitation will be in held in the church Sunday, March 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Freeport Salvation Army, 106 W. Exchange Street, Freeport, IL 61032 or to Faith Community Church Medical Clinic and Faith Community Church Food Pantry, 212 W. McKimmy Street, Davis 61019.
