Bernice J. Fisher Obituary (1917 - 2009)

Bernice J. Fisher, 91, Pecatonica, Illinois, died at 6:44 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2009 peacefully at home. Born November 24, 1917 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Marie (Sowers) Brasch. Married Paul R. Fisher in Freeport, Illinois on April 5, 1942. She was employed by Burgess Battery in Freeport, Illinois for many years. Member of First Congregational Church in Pecatonica and American Legion Auxiliary in Freeport, Illinois. Graduated from Freeport High School, Class of 1935 and Brown Business College. Survivors include daughter Paula (Greg) Hachmeister, Pecatonica, Illinois; grandchildren Joshua and Jacob; beloved cat Peaches; several nieces and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2009 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 203 W Fifth Street, Pecatonica, Illinois with Reverend Darren Dietmeier, Aledo, Illinois, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Friends Forever Humane Society, 966 Rudy Road, Freeport, IL 61032 or Hospice Care of America 520 Main Street, Pecatonica, Illinois 61063.
