Obituary for Shannon Rayna Olson

Shannon R. Olson, 45, of Pecatonica, IL died on Monday April 24, 2017 at 3:03 pm in Mercy Health Hospital.
Shannon was born January 1, 1972 in Rockford, IL. Graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1990. She was proud to be a farmer and working outside on the farm. She enjoyed watching her son play football and her daughters dance performances.

Survivors include her son Logan Sanders; daughter Jadyn Olson; life partner for 12 years Steve Ekman; mother Paula (Mario) Fortunato; father Randy (Pam) Olson; sister Kelly (Paul) Fuca; sister Crystal Fortunato; maternal grandfathers Paul Vincer and Joseph Fortunato; paternal grandmother Leona Olson; special friend Kellie Dunnagan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Marilyn Vincer, maternal grandfather James Cofman, paternal grandparents Robert and Dorothy Olson and Paul and Lucille Fry. Shannon believed in tissue and organ donating. With her generosity she has saved various life’s.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 in New Life Bible Church, corner of US 20 and North Hoisington Road, Winnebago, IL, with Reverend Duane Hoffman officiating. Cremation Rites were Accorded. An opportunity to extend sympathy and share stories with the family will start at 11:00 a.m. at the church Friday May 12, 2017.

A memorial is being established to assist with Jadyn’s future education.
