Obituary for Pamela L Sherwood

Pamela L. Sherwood, 74, of Rockton, IL passed away at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Mercy Health after a sudden illness.

She was born May 20, 1943 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Art and Ruth (Downing) Jacobs. She graduated from Freeport High School, Class of 1961. Pam married J. Clayton Sherwood on May 19,1994 in Rockford, IL. She was employed at Ringer Jewelers in Freeport for over 25 years, worked at The Corner Boutique in Freeport, Prange’s in Rockford, Chase Bank and Blackhawk Bank in Roscoe, IL which she retired from in 2010. She was a member of Old Stone Church, Green Thumb Garden Club, Federation of Antique Dolls, Rockton Woman’s Club; was active with the Rockton Chamber of Commerce and various committees.

Survivors include her husband Clayton; daughter Suzanne (Mike) Yeager; grandson Jake Yeager; son Robert (Mary Ann) Sherwood; daughter Christine (Marc) Wolfe; grandchildren Hayden, Mackenzi, Delaney Sherwood, Angie (Eric) Votis, Peen Coles, Maddie and Gracie Wolfe and brother Timothy Jacobs. Preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild.

Memorial Ceremonies at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Old Stone Church, 101 E Union St, Rockton, IL with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded.
Arrangements by McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL Visitation will be held in the church from 1:30 p.m. until time of funeral.
