Obituary for John Walters

John Walters, 82,of South Beloit, IL died at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Born on April 15, 1935 in Mineral Center, Minnesota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. and Mary M. (McKenzie) Walters Sr. Married to the former Ruby Leckscheid in South Beloit, IL on May 19, 1999. He Owned and Operated, with his brother Richard, a Fleet of Trucks at Durgom Concrete Pipe Co from 1959-1972. Then John Owned, Operated and Hauled Steel with the Teamster Union, retiring in 1996. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during Peace Time, from 1957-1959. He enjoyed Handy Man activities and finishing his own home.

Survived by his wife Ruby; sons James, Thomas, and Edward Walters; step-son Reuben Hiatt; grandchildren Jacquelynn Walters Hale and Benjamin Walters; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers William “Jean” Walters, and Richard “Dick” Walters, and sister Betty Rhead.

Funeral Ceremonies at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL with Pastor Doug Johnson of Rockton , officiating.

Final Resting in Rockton Township Cemetery. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral, Monday, October 2, 2017.
