Edward P. Jurczak Obituary (1938 - 2017)

Edward P. Jurczak, 79, of Lake Summerset, IL died at 2:15 a.m., Sunday, July 9, 2017 at home. Born March 14, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. and Ann (Korman) Jurczak. He was employed by GTE (Automatic Electric) and then by Anixter, Inc, retiring in 2001. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving in the US Army. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, IL and the Lake Summerset Bocce Ball Club. Survivors include Edward (Jill) Jurczak; daughter Julie (Jim) Hadler; son Jon (Amy) Shearer; nine grandchildren; sisters Bonnie Horkavy, Paulette (Tim) Gleason; Jodi (Jerry) Rondo and Andrea (Danny) Hickman; brother Marty (June) Jurczak and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 602 W Main Street, Durand, IL, with prayers to be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 14 with a scripture service to be held at 7:30 p.m. . Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Durand, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/Chicagoland/Northern IL, 5501 N Cumberland Ave, Suite 101, Chicago, IL 60656
