Obituary for Dawn R. Scott

Dawn R. Scott, 88, of Rockton, IL, went to be with her heavenly Father at 9:10 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2017 in Mercy Health Center.
She was born September 13, 1928 in Rockford; IL was the daughter of Rodney and Margaret (Kryder) Nelson. She graduated from Hononegah High School Class of 1946; was the class historian and helped organize class reunions. She married W. Dale Scott March 2, 1949 in Shirland United Methodist Church.
She worked in the clerical field for Cressant Electric Supply, worked for the Shirland and Rockton Township Assessors’ offices for over 40 years. Dawn was a member of Rockton United Methodist Church, and she sang in the church choir.
Survivors include daughters Gail (Jim) Johnson, Gloria ( George) Halvorsen, Gwen (Randy Campbell) Stook, and son Glenn (Kelly) Scott, Several grandchildren and great grandchildren , brother Rodney (Janice) Nelson, sister Patricia Brown; nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends. Preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children.
Funeral ceremonies to be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 30, 2017 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, IL with Pastor Gloria Halvorsen officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Township Cemetery, Shirland, IL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 am to Funeral Ceremonies Wednesday.
